Hairy Maclary goes to the Philippines

At the end of last year I raised $64 for the children in the Philippines and used it to buy books.  4 of the books were Hairy Maclary which are New Zealand books about a little scruffy dog and his friends.
The children in Tacloban liked these books.  This photo of them enjoying one of the books is really special to me.

With my fundraising this time I was asked what I wanted to use the money for.  I decided I wanted to get more Hairy Maclary books and also some backpacks with school supplies.  Because I raised $345 I can get a lot more than last time.

My Mum remembered some people who sell books near her work and so we went to see them at their home and the man said we could have a full set of 15 Hairy Maclary books for $100 NZD which is really cheap because at the shops they are $18 each.  He gave us such a good price because he wanted to help too.  My friend took all these books with her, and is going to buy school supplies and get me some photos of what she buys.

Handing over the money raised

Today I handed over the $345 that I have raised for the children in the Philippines.  I am really happy to have gone past my target of $300 and this is by far the most money I have raised.

My last job for the Philippines - Pasifika art

My Uncle is from Samoa and Tokelau.  He asked me if I would a job making him a Pasifika artwork for his office.  I have been doing some Pasifika art at school for our Friday arts rotation.

I wanted the artwork to be really good so I looked on the internet for examples and then created my artwork.  It looks like this:

Money for this job: $10
Bonus donation this week: $20
