Raising money for the Child Cancer Foundation

Today I dropped off $135 (NZD) to the Child Cancer Foundation in Wellington.  I raised this money by selling craft kits and Oreo pops at a Kids Craft Market.  I wanted to use my market stall to raise money for others, not just to get money for myself.

I love craft and it was nearly Christmas time so I made craft kits to sell.  Because my blog is caring is my super power I made make your own super hero mask kits.  They looked like this:

I also made decorate your own Christmas tree kits.  I made lots of labels and posters too.  It was a lot of work to get ready.

At the Kids Market I also had a table where children could decorate their own wooden decoration to take home.  The donation for this also went to the Child Cancer Foundation.  The market went for four hours and Mum thought that maybe I would do two hours before I got tired.  I did the whole four hours and by the time we set up and tidied up again we were there for almost 7 hours.  I had fun and people were very kind.  Some of my friends came to see me.  Some other friends didn't come but they bought my craft kits later so they helped me raise $135.  I had wanted to make $100 so I did more than my goal.

When I went to the Child Cancer Foundation today I took the money inside a card.  I wrote how I raised the money and put a photo of me at the market.  I met Alison and Scott and they were really nice.  They asked me questions and showed me their Family Place.  They know my friend who died and her family and we talked about her.

I would like to raise more money for the Child Cancer Foundation some time later this year.  I do have another plan first because I want to help the homeless people in Wellington by getting lots of food for one of the soup kitchens.  I will write more about that soon!
