Stocking the Soup Kitchen's Kitchen

This morning we went to the supermarket to spend the $160 I raised for Soup Kitchen Wellington.  I had looked at their website and had a practice visit so I knew what sort of products I should buy.

I took my time to choose what I wanted, to get the best prices and to add everything up.

The trolley got so full I could hardly push it! It took me one hour to do all the shopping. I felt happy with my choices.

It was funny because we had added up everything to cost exactly $160 but when we went through the check out it was cheaper! We decided to give that to then in cash instead of going back into the shop.

We were going to go home after the shopping and go in to the Soup Kitchen tomorrow but the car was so full we decided to go straight away. At the Soup Kitchen everyone was very kind and they showed us where everything is cooked, where people sit and the store room.  They said I might want to come back and visit with my class and I really want to do that.

I hope that my food donation and the $24 cash donation can give food to lots of people who need it.

    1. Thank you for your comment. I hadn't thought about being Prime Minister until you said it but that does sound fun. I wonder if the Prime Minister is allowed to eat ice cream sundaes every day?

  5. Thank you Lincoln. Saw you on Stuff website. On my days off work I like to pop across the road to the Soup Kitchen and have breakfast and catch up and chat to other regulars. And am pleased you managed to visit The Compassion Center and provide inspiration and help many who are in need. Keep up the great work!
